范文:
It was a dark and stormy night, and rain poured down in sheets as lightning illuminated the sky. The thunder boomed so loudly that it shook the buildings, and the wind howled like a banshee. All around me, people hurried along the street, their umbrellas flipped over to keep the rain from drenching them.
I was wearing my boots and a raincoat, but I was still getting wet. I ducked into a building to get out of the rain and took off my boots to let them dry. As I waited, I saw a young woman shivering outside. She was wearing a thin dress and had no umbrella to keep her dry.
I went out to her and offered her my umbrella, but she refused, saying she was fine. I knew she was just being polite, so I pressed her again. Finally, she took my umbrella and thanked me. She said her phone was dead and she needed to find a charger.
We searched the building together, and finally found a charger in a small office. As she plugged in her phone, we got to talking. She told me her name was Emily and that she was a volunteer at a local homeless shelter. She said she loved working with the homeless and trying to make their lives better.
I was impressed by her dedication and decided to help her out. I gave her my phone so she could call her shelter and let them know she would be late. She made the call, and then thanked me again. She said she would return my umbrella and phone as soon as she could.
As I left the building, I smiled to myself. It may have been a dark and stormy night, but I’d helped someone in need, and that felt pretty darn good.
